Administrative: South Carolina Philharmonic

At the South Carolina Philharmonic, based in Columbia, KIM SULLIVAN has been promoted to education and outreach director, in which capacity she will also serve as development coordinator for funding of the orchestra’s activities in that area. A native of Newtown, Conn., she joined the orchestra in 2009 as conducting assistant to Music Director Morihiko Nakahara. In September 2011 she was named education coordinator, charged with helping the SCP implement a new educational partnership with Link Up, a program of Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute for students in grades K-6. Sullivan will continue as serve as conducting assistant at the orchestra along with her new role as education and outreach director. She is pursuing a DMA in orchestral conducting at the University of South Carolina.
