Minnesota’s Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies, headquartered in Minneapolis, has announced that AMIR KATS will step down as artistic director effective August 31. The organization’s chief conductor for the last five years, Kats has announced his desire to pursue other conducting opportunities and spend more time with his family. GTCYS will launch a national search for a full-time artistic director this summer. It anticipates that Kats’s successor will be announced early next year and begin his or her tenure in the summer of 2013.
