At the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, ISAAC THOMPSON has been appointed artistic administrator and MAIKEN KNUDSEN promoted to artistic manager and assistant to the music director. Since 2010 Thompson has worked for the artistic production company and recording label ArtistLed. He has also assisted with artistic planning for the San Francisco Bay Area’s Music@Menlo festival and has served as artistic adviser and project manager for the Miró Quartet. An active violinist and native of St. Paul, Minn., Thompson holds degrees from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and the University of Texas at Austin. Knudsen joined the MSO staff in 2007 as artist liaison and assistant to the music director. Among her new responsibilities as artistic manager will be programming for the orchestra’s Pops Series and developing new opportunities for revenue-generating activities such as tours and run-out concerts. She is a graduate of Lawrence University in Appleton, Wis.
