The Minnesota Orchestral Association has announced the extension of ANDREW LITTON’s contract as artistic director of Sommerfest through 2014. The festival, established by the orchestra in 1980 as one of the nation’s first urban summer classical-music festivals, has been led by Litton since 2003. Litton is also music director of Norway’s Bergen Philharmonic, and was recently named artistic advisor to the Colorado Symphony Orchestra.
