In Tuesday’s (7/31) Asheville Citizen-Times (North Carolina), Tony Kiss reports, “As conductor and music director of the Asheville Symphony Orchestra, Daniel Meyer regularly steps to the podium to begin a performance. On Wednesday, he’ll make a different sort of walk—out to the pitcher’s mound—to begin the Asheville Tourists baseball game against the Lexington, Ky., Legends. Meyer will throw out the game’s first pitch around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday. The ASO begins its 2012-13 season with a Labor Day concert Sept. 3 at Pack Square Park downtown. … The ASO’s first indoor concert of the season is Sept. 15 at Thomas Wolfe Auditorium.”
