Artistic: Orchestre symphonique de Montréal

Québec’s Orchestre symphonique de Montreal has announced the extension of KENT NAGANO’s contract as music director through the 2015-16 season. He has held the post since 2006, and his initial five-year contract was renewed in 2011. Before becoming music director of the OSM he served for two years as the orchestra’s music advisor. Since 2006 he has also been general music director of Munich’s Bayerische Staatsoper. Nagano is a native of Berkeley, California, and was music director of the Berkeley Symphony Orchestra from 1978 to 2009.
