A memorial tribute to the classical-music impresario Omus Hirshbein is set to take place at the Juilliard School’s Paul Hall on October 4 at 5 p.m. Hirshbein, who died on December 31, 2011, was the longtime director of performing arts at the 92nd Street Y in New York City; he also served as director of the music program of the National Endowment for the Arts, managed the New York Chamber Symphony, and produced the Free for All at Town Hall series of free concerts. The memorial tribute will feature performances by artists with whom Hirshbein was associated during his long career, including pianists Richard Goode and Joseph Kalichstein, violinists Jaime Laredo and Pamela Frank, violist Steve Tenenbom, cellists Sharon Robinson and Peter Wiley, and soprano Lauren Flanigan.
