Violinist MARTIN BEAVER and cellist CLIVE GREENSMITH have been appointed directors of the string chamber music program at the Colburn Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles. Both are members of the Tokyo String Quartet. Beaver has served as the ensemble’s first violin since 2002, and has held teaching posts at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, the University of British Columbia, the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University, New York University, and most recently the Yale School of Music. Greensmith, who joined the Tokyo Quartet as cellist in 1999, has taught at the Royal Northern College of Music, Yehudi Menuhin School, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Yale School of Music, and Manhattan School of Music.
