In New York City, the 92nd Street Y is in the midst of a Twitter campaign called “The Well-Tweeted Clavier” during the month and a half leading up to pianist András Schiff’s performances of Books I and II of Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier on October 27 and November 1. Using the hashtag #WTClavier, each day the Y posts a new tweet, which directs followers to everything from articles and a fugue form of Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance,” to cats listening to Bach. The 92nd Street Y’s event microsite includes a special interactive keyboard linking each piano key to a video performance of the piece Bach wrote in that key for the Well-Tempered Clavier. The campaign last 48 days—corresponding to the 24 keys in each of the two books of Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier—and ends on October 31.
