The San Francisco Symphony has appointed ANNE JOHNSON director of development, effective January 28, 2013. Since 2008 she has served as associate vice president of development and campaign director at California’s San Jose State University. Johnson began her seventeen-year development career in corporate and foundation relations at Boston University. She subsequently served as director of development at the School of Fine Arts and the Lied Center at the University of Kanas, and as development director for the Lawrence (Kan.) Community Theater. Johnson holds a master’s degree in education from Boston University and a bachelor’s in French from the University of Kanas, which included studies at Paris’s Sorbonne University.
