The Detroit Symphony Orchestra has announced the election of PHILLIP WM. FISHER as board chair. He succeeds STANLEY FRANKEL, the DSO’s chairman from 2009 to 2012. Fisher has served on the DSO Board of Directors as an officer at large since 2009, and has been a member of its Executive Committee and chair of the Technology Taskforce, charged with enhancing the orchestra’s digital capabilities. He is vice chairman of the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Foundation, based in Southfield, Mich., and for more than 25 years has been a principal of The Fisher Group, a single-family office serving the asset management needs of the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher family. He is also a member of the board and Investment Committee of the Community Foundation of Southeast Michigan; an Executive Committee member of the New Economy Initiative; and the founder of Mission Throttle, an organization dedicated to accelerating the evolution of philanthropy.
