The violinist Joshua Bell is among those to be honored at “An Affair of the Arts,” a gala event in Miami held by the National YoungArts Foundation, a nonprofit that helps aspiring high school artists. Also scheduled to receive honors this year will be director and choreographer Debbie Allen and actor Adrian Grenier. The gala, held at the Olympia Theater at the Gusman Center for the Performing Arts and the Alfred I. DuPont Building in downtown Miami, honors those “who are making meaningful contributions to the arts,” said Paul T. Lehr, executive director of the National YoungArts Foundation. The gala also will celebrate the 150 participants in YoungArts Week, an annual program in Miami of master classes, workshops, interdisciplinary activities, performances and exhibitions for students in visual, literary, and performing arts. YoungArts alumni include violinist Jennifer Koh; bass-baritone Eric Owens; trumpeter and composer Terence Blanchard; actors Vanessa Williams and Raúl Esparza; rapper/singer Nikki Minaj; and multimedia artist Doug Aitken.
