The Moab (Utah) Music Festival has announced the appointment of LAURA DOSER BROWN as executive director. A native of Rock Springs, Wyoming, she has served as executive director of the Lawton (Okla.) Philharmonic and held marketing posts with the Dubuque (Iowa) Symphony Orchestra and the Colorado Springs Symphony Orchestra. Brown has worked with the fundraising consulting firm Elisabeth Galley and Associates and has served as public programs director at the Western Museum of Mining & Industry in Colorado Springs. Trained in musicology and oboe, she has also been active as a performer and currently serves as second oboe in Colorado’s Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra. Brown is pursuing a Ph.D. in musicology and criticism at the University of California, Davis.
