IMG Artists has announced the appointment of DAVID LAI as managing director, North America. He is currently president of Park Avenue Artists, where he will continue to develop the careers of young artists in music, theater, television, and film in strategic alliance with IMG. Lai was formerly senior vice president of A&R and Operations for Sony Masterworks, and subsequently served as a producer and A&R consultant for Sony, working with such artists as Itzhak Perlman, Joshua Bell, Audra McDonald, Plácido Domingo, Yo-Yo Ma, Josh Groban, Lang Lang, and Herbie Hancock. ELIZABETH SOBOL, who has served as managing director of IMG Artists since 2007, is leaving the firm to become president and CEO of Decca Label Group USA.
