ANDREW HAVERON has been named co-concertmaster of Australia’s Sydney Symphony Orchestra, effective in May 2013. Currently joint concertmaster of the Philharmonia Orchestra in London, he has held concertmaster posts with several orchestras in the UK and Europe including the BBC Symphony and has served as guest concertmaster with the London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Hong Kong Philharmonic, and Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields. From 1999 to 2007 he was first violinist with the Brodsky Quartet. A prizewinner in the Paganini, Queen Elisabeth, and Indianapolis violin competitions, Haveron is a native of London, where he studied at the Purcell School and the Royal College of Music.
