This workgroup is designed for staff, board members, and musicians interested in promoting diversity and inclusion at their orchestras. Meeting via phone, the group is a “safe place” for discussing strategies to work through diversity issues within varied contexts and to provide participants with new perspectives on diversity and inclusion.

Participants will be encouraged to use the workgroup conversation to jump-start diversity and inclusion work within their own organization. Each participant will be asked to commit to taking one concrete step forward to advance the diversity conversation at their orchestra. Jessica Schmidt will be available to each participant for a personal follow-up call in the summer of 2013 to provide support in this effort.
