California’s Sonoma State University has announced the appointment of EMMANUEL MORLET as artistic director of its Green Music Center, effective April 1, 2013. Green Music Center, a new facility that encompasses the 1,400-seat Joan & Sanford I. Weill Hall, is home to the Santa Rosa Symphony and hosts concerts by the San Francisco Symphony and a variety of touring orchestras, ensembles, and artists. In his new post Morlet will be responsible for setting GMC’s artistic vision and programming, working closely with the center’s newly appointed executive director, LARRY FURUKAWA-SCHLERETH. Morlet is currently director of the Music Office at the French Embassy and program officer of the French-American Cultural Exchange Foundation in New York. A native of France, he was educated at the University of Paris-Sorbonne and at Blaise Pascal University in Clermont-Ferrand, majoring in French literature while also studying communications, music, and arts administration.
