The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra OrchKids program will host a three day workshop and symposium July 11-13, 2013 focusing on creating strategic plans for aspiring El Sistema inspired programs and expanding pre-existing programs.
Participants will work in small groups led by Play on Philly creator, Stanford Thompson, Harmony Project founder, Anne Fitzgibbon and OrchKids Artistic Director, Dan Trahey. Each participant will leave the workshop with a carefully crafted unique plan that will include: mission, budget, schedule, PR and marketing strategy, development plan, and an outline of outcomes and assessments. Plans will be discussed in small and large groups and presented in a “board room” simulation as a culminating event.
