The London-based orchestra Academy of St.-Martin-in-the-Fields announced that it has invited five music-lovers to participate in its first Google+ Hangout, an online chat with Music Director Joshua Bell. Joining Bell in the conversation on March 24 at 7 p.m. GMT (3 pm ET in the U.S.) will be journalist Helen Wallace and ASMF Principal First Violin Harvey de Souza. Prospective participants are invited to send an email expressing their interest to info@asmf.org. Nonparticipants may watch the conversation live on Google+ at http://gplus.to/asmf, and the conversation will be linked in at ASMF’s website immediately following the event. This month the Academy released its first recording on Sony Classical—Beethoven Symphony Nos. 4 and 7—under the leadership of Bell, who conducts and plays from the concertmaster’s chair.
