Two administrative appointments were recently announced by the Cincinnati Symphony and Pops Orchestra. MICHAEL BETTS, the orchestra’s new director of volunteers and special events, goes to Cincinnati after six years as event sales and operations manager for the Seattle Center in Washington State; he had earlier served as special events and volunteer program manager at Seattle Repertory Theatre. A native of Cleveland, Betts holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in scenic design and props artistry from Kent State University. Also announced by the Cincinnati Symphony was the promotion of RACHEL KIRLEY from individual giving manager to director of major gifts. Before joining the CSO in October 2010, she worked in Oregon as individual giving manager and individual coordinator for Portland Opera. A member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Kirley holds a bachelor’s degree in theater from The College of Wooster (Ohio) and a master’s in arts administration from Ohio’s University of Akron.
