In Thursday’s (3/28) Star-Ledger (Newark, New Jersey), Peggy McGlone reports, “The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra has begun the search for a new chief executive to replace Richard Dare, who resigned in January after nine days on the job when it came to light that he was a registered sex offender. The orchestra announced Wednesday it was conducting the search with one of its corporate partners and not with its long-time search firm, H.C. Smith of Cleveland, which was involved in Dare’s hiring. Susan Stucker, the orchestra’s general manager, will continue as interim president and CEO, a position she held after Andre Gremillet left to take the reins at the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in September of 2012 until Dare’s arrived in January. … A spokeswoman for the orchestra said the corporate partner has asked to remain anonymous, and interviews are underway for a new search firm.”
