A report late Saturday (3/30) on the Massachusetts news site Wicked Local states, “The Cape Cod Museum of Art, 60 Hope Lane, Dennis, in cooperation with Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra, will present An Evening with Maestro Jung-Ho Pak on Tuesday, April 2, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the galleries at the museum. Proceeds from the event will benefit the museum. … The highlight of the occasion will be a special preview performance of ‘Passing Acquaintance,’ a new violin and viola concerto composed by Brett Abigaña after George Frideric Handel and Johan Halvorsen. A portion of the piece will be performed by symphony musicians Heather Goodchild Wade on violin and Laura Manko on viola. Jung-Ho Pak, the symphony’s artistic director and conductor, and Abigaña will discuss the concerto prior to the performance. (The piece will be premiered in its entirety at Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra concerts on April 6 and 7 at the Barnstable Performing Arts Center.)”
