The Cincinnati Music Festival Association has announced a three-year extension of JAMES CONLON’s contract as music director of the Cincinnati May Festival, which now extends through 2016. First named to the post in 1979, he is the longest-serving music director in the history of the festival, which Theodore Thomas founded in 1873 and led for 31 years. Conlon is also music director of Los Angeles Opera and of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s series at Ravinia Festival in Highland Park, Illinois.
