In Wednesday’s (5/1) Houston Business Journal, Olivia Pulsinelli writes, “The Houston Symphony honored Music Director Hans Graf with a gold ‘Walk of Fame’ star on the plaza outside the front doors of Jones Hall in downtown Houston. The ceremony was held April 30. Graf has held his position for 12 years, making him the longest-standing music director in the symphony’s history. He will begin his final month of concerts on May 2. Graf, who turned 64 in February, will continue as the symphony’s first conductor laureate during the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 seasons. After a three-year search—conducted by a 12-member search committee composed of musicians, board members and staff—Andrés Orozco-Estrada was named as Graf’s successor, the 16th music director in the symphony’s 100-year history.”
