The Eugene (Ore.) Symphony has appointed NESS ZOLAN general manager, effective July 1. His background includes serving as manager of special programming at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., where he managed such events as “9/11 Ten Years Later,” the Kennedy Center Honors, the annual spring gala with the National Symphony Orchestra and Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra, and the NSO’s Opening Ball. Zolan was also part-time production manager of the Washington, D.C.-based Pan American Symphony Orchestra. A native of California, he holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California-Santa Cruz and a Strategic Development in the Arts diploma from the Universidad de Ricardo Palma in Lima, Peru.
