TIMOTHY MUFFITT, music director and conductor of the Lansing (Mich.) Symphony Orchestra, has signed a contract renewing his tenure in that position for three years. The extension was announced by the LSO in conjunction with details of its 84th season, which opens September 13, 2013 at Wharton Center’s Cobb Great Hall. Muffitt has served as the LSO’s music director since 2006.
