On May 14 and 21 at 10 p.m. ET, PBS will broadcast a two-hour educational program, “Discover Vivaldi’s Four Seasons,” by the Discovery Orchestra, based in Warren, New Jersey. Part I of the “Four Seasons” broadcast, on May 14, will cover the Spring and Summer movements of the Vivaldi work, while Part II will focus on Autumn and Winter. The program, led by Conductor/Host George Marriner Maull and featuring violin soloist Peter Winograd, was taped in May 2012 at the Concert Hall at Drew University in Madison, New Jersey. The stated mission of the Discovery Orchestra is “to teach the listening skills that help people emotionally connect to classical music” through performances, media programs, and interactive instruction for adults and children as young as eight years old.
