In Wednesday’s (5/22) Variety, Jennie Punter writes, “Godfrey Reggio’s ‘Visitors’ will world preem at the Toronto Film Festival, 30 years after the theatrical release of the helmer’s influential cult film ‘Koyaanisqatsi,’ it was announced Wednesday. The Sept. 8 preem at the Elgin Theater will be presented by Steven Soderbergh with a live performance of Philip Glass’ score by the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, led by Michael Riesman, who has conducted numerous  Glass scores, including those for Reggio’s ‘qatsi’ trilogy of films. ‘Visitors’ is the fourth feature collaboration between Reggio, Glass and filmmaker-editor Jon Kane, and continues their adventures in non-spoken narrative in a film examining humanity’s relationship with technology. ‘Coupled with live performance by 65 members of the TSO, this event is an opportunity for audiences to be moved and to experience film in a whole new way,’ said fest director and CEO Piers Handling.”
