Oregon’s Eugene Symphony has announced the appointment of SEARMI PARK as concertmaster. She will make her debut in that role at the opening concert of the orchestra’s 2013-14 season on September 26. A native of Los Angeles, Park served for ten years (2001-2011) in the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra. She has performed regularly with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Los Angeles Opera Orchestra, and the Pacific Symphony in California’s Orange County, and as assistant or guest concertmaster for such organizations as the Long Beach Opera, Santa Barbara Symphony, San Francisco Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and New West Symphony. She began her career as a studio musician, participating in hundreds of motion picture, television, video game, and artist recordings. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music from UCLA.
