The Calgary (Alberta) Philharmonic Orchestra has appointed ADAM JOHNSON resident conductor, effective with the 2013-14 season. A native of Alberta, he goes to the CPO through the Residencies for Composers and Conductors program of the Canada Council for the Arts. He was most recently assistant conductor of l’Orchestre philharmonique des musiciens étudiants de Montréal. Johnson holds a doctorate in piano performance from the Université de Montréal and is the recipient of a prize in orchestral conducting from the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal.
