The National Symphony Orchestra has announced a two-year extension of ANKUSH KUMAR BAHL’s contract as assistant conductor, through the 2014-15 season.  During his first two seasons at the NSO Bahl has led the orchestra in 30 Young People’s Concerts, four “NSO in Your Neighborhood” concerts, and six other performances including a Millennium Stage concert marking the public debut of the Kennedy Center’s Rubenstein Family Organ. Bahl recently made his Royal Concertgebouw debut, substituting on short notice for Kurt Masur. On July 26 he will make his debut with the NSO at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts in Vienna, Va.
