The New Haven (Conn.) Symphony Orchestra has appointed NIKKI BESITKO development director and LINDSEY CHRISTIANI marketing manager.

Nikki Besitko, the NHSO’s new development director, has fifteen years of experience in fundraising, event planning, program development, and management, most recently as director of development at Yale University’s Center for Public Service and Social Justice. She had earlier held fundraising and management posts at the Connecticut chapter of Best Buddies International, at Special Olympics Connecticut, and at Leeway, Inc. of New Haven. Besitko holds a degree in psychology from Eastern Connecticut State University.

Marketing Manager Lindsey Christiani served previously as community development specialist at the Visiting Nurse Association of South Central Connecticut. From 2007 to 2012 she worked at Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts (Katonah, N.Y.), holding posts as box office manager, manager of annual giving and special events, and director of individual gifts. In addition to her new responsibilities at the NHSO she works part-time as box office and events manager at Southern Connecticut State University’s John Lyman Center for the Performing Arts. Christiani is a graduate of SCSU with a degree in communications.
