California’s Santa Rosa Symphony has appointed violinist/violist AARON WESTMAN director of its Young People’s Chamber Orchestra, one of the four ensemble’s in SRS’s youth orchestra program. He had served as acting director of the Chamber Orchestra in the fall of 2010, and is an alumnus for the youth orchestras of both the Santa Rosa and San Francisco symphonies. Also co-director of the chamber ensembles Agave Baroque and Live Oak Baroque Orchestra, Westman has performed as soloist and chamber musician with numerous organizations in the U.S., Europe, and South America. He holds a master’s degree from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music with a double major in viola performance and early music.
