In New York City, Lincoln Center for Performing Arts and the Mostly Mozart Festival have announced significant expansions of their websites. The Mostly Mozart Festival, which runs from July 27 to August 24 at Avery Fisher Hall, launched its “Meet the Orchestra” platform to coincide with the festival’s opening last month. The site features photos and biographies of each musician, along with video interviews with a select number of musicians, as well as Louis Langrée, the festival’s music director. In the short bios, musicians answer questions including “Favorite Non-musical Activity,” “Most Memorable Experiences,” “Pre-concert Ritual,” and “On My iPod,” among others. On July 24, Lincoln Center for Performing Arts launched its new video portal with a live-stream of its Red Hot + FELA LIVE! concert honoring Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo Kuti, at Lincoln Center’s Out of Doors Festival in Damrosch Park. The site includes a gallery of 90 videos of Lincoln Center artists spanning classical music, jazz, opera, dance, theater, and cinema. The video portal’s five channels can be browsed by both channel and performing arts genre, with the option to share on social media platforms. The portal includes musician portraits; short Q&A interviews; selections from the Live From Lincoln Center TV series; and videos about upcoming Lincoln Center events and series.
