CHRISTOPHER GRUITS has been named executive director for Interlochen Presents at the Interlochen (Mich.) Center for the Arts. He began his career with the Seattle Symphony as assistant operations manager and subsequently served on the staff of Carnegie Hall, first as artistic projects manager and more recently as its first director of e-strategy. Gruits has also worked for Dilettante Music, a London-based company dedicated to building new audiences for classical music through social networking. He holds an MBA from the University of Edinburgh and a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary humanities with a concentration in arts management from Michigan State University.
