El Paso (Tex.) Symphony Youth Orchestras has announced two additions to its artistic staff: CINDY CABADA, conductor of the El Paso Youth String Ensemble; and OSVALDO MENDOZA, conductor of the El Paso Youth Symphony.

Cabada is orchestra director at Eastwood Middle School in Texas’s Ysleta Independent School District and an educator, performer, conductor, and clinician in the greater West Texas region. She holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from the University of Texas-El Paso, where she studied violin and viola.

Mendoza is a theory and composition instructor at the El Paso Conservatory of Music, teaches guitar at Jefferson-Silva High School, and has worked with the El Paso Symphony Orchestra as a conductor. Born and raised in Juarez, Mexico, he holds a master’s degree in theory and composition from the Peabody Conservatory and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas-El Paso.
