The Pacific Symphony in California’s Orange County has announced the election of MICHAEL KERR as chairman of its Board of Directors, effective July 1, 2013. He succeeds SALLY ANDERSON, who remains on the board as immediate past chairman. Kerr has been a Pacific Symphony subscriber since the opening of Orange County’s Segerstrom Center for the Arts in 1986, and joined the Pacific Symphony board ten years ago at the invitation of the orchestra, for which he had commissioned a piece by Tobias Picker. In addition to his involvement on multiple board committees and strong attachment to educational and community-engagement programming, Kerr founded the Pacific Coast Wine Festival, an annual fundraiser that has brought in more than $800,000 for the orchestra in the last six years.
