GORDON J. JOHNSON has assumed the presidency of the Conductors Guild, headquartered in Richmond, Va. He took office in June at the Guild’s 2013 Conference in St. Louis. Johnson is music director and conductor of the Great Falls (Mont.) Symphony and has guest conducted orchestras throughout the U.S. Canada, England, Japan, Germany, and France. He has served as music director of the Glacier (Mont.) Symphony (1982-97) and of the Mesa (Ariz.) Symphony (1997-2005), and was director of orchestras at Montana’s Red Lodge Music Festival from 2006 to 2011.
