In Wednesday’s (9/25) Ohio-based Middletown Journal, Ginny McCabe reports, “The world-renowned Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO) will present a community concert at Middletown High School next Thursday, Oct. 3 … Directed by William White, Assistant Conductor of Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Conductor of Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra (CSYO), the Middletown High School Orchestra will open the concert, followed by a … performance by the [CSO], which will be led by CSO Associate Conductor Robert Treviño.… Earlier in the day, students…will have an opportunity to participate in master classes with CSO players … [and] gain the experience of working with [them]. … The concert’s purpose is to further engage the community and to show them what a beautiful thing the students are doing by making music. The students also have an opportunity to reinforce what they are striving for and they can see firsthand what is possible.… According to Middletown High School Orchestra Director, Corey Hall, about 65 students from the schools symphonic orchestra in grades 9-12 will participate in the master classes and evening concert.…  Audiences can expect to hear a full concert of timeless classics and orchestral favorites by Mozart, Prokofiev, and Elgar.”
