The League of American Orchestras has announced that ANGELO M. FATTA has withdrawn as chair-elect of the League’s Board of Directors, effective immediately. He has expressed his personal regret and said that very recent personal and professional demands led him to step down. “While we are very disappointed that Ange is unable to continue as chair-elect, we certainly respect his decision,” said Lowell J. Noteboom, chair of the League’s Board of Directors. “We thank Ange for his efforts on behalf of the League.”  Noteboom, who had previously announced his intention to retire as board chair in June 2014, said that a new chair-elect would be named in the near future, and that his own plans to retire in June have not changed. “We have a deep, talented and dedicated board,” said Noteboom, “and by moving quickly to name a new chair-elect, we will ensure a smooth transition in our leadership in June.”
