The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and the Atlanta Business Chronicle have announced they will co-host the inaugural “Battle of the Biz Bands” competition in January 2014. The competition is open to bands comprising any group of active employees from a metropolitan Atlanta business, or local band sponsored by an Atlanta business. The deadline to enter is December 1, and the entrance fee is $2,000, to be paid by corporate sponsor or employer. The competition will benefit the ASO and its education and community programs. Up to 20 bands will be randomly selected and notified on December 2. The competition’s first two rounds will be held on January 3 and 10 at Atlanta’s 14th Street Playhouse, and the finals will be held on January 19 in Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center. Atlanta Business Chronicle Publisher Ed Baker commented, “I’ve been hearing for many years, from many local executives, how much music talent they and their staff members possess. It’s time for our business community to display its true talent and show us who’s the best in the business.” Details and entry forms for the competition can be found here.
