“The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and its youth program, OrchKids, will perform during halftime of the Ravens’ Thanksgiving-night game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at M&T Bank Stadium,” writes Aaron Wilson in Friday’s (11/8) Baltimore Sun. “The Ravens had the OrchKids over to practice today as their guests, and the youth orchestra performed for the team on the practice field. ‘We have very special guests here,’ Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. ‘That was really a lot of fun.’ Afterward, Ravens team president Dick Cass and strong-side linebacker Elvis Dumervil presented the musical youth program with a $15,000 check on behalf of the team.… ‘You heard the music today,’ Cass said. ‘We’re very pleased to have with us the OrchKids and announce that on Thankgiving on national television, we’re going to be with the best of Baltimore, the Baltimore Ravens, and also the Baltimore Symphony is going to perform at halftime.’ Players and coaches spent time talking with the young musicians during and after practice. ‘I was just like these kids,’ Dumervil said. ‘I think it’s cool. I love music. I think it’s creative. I’m honored to see you guys go out there and perform, and I think it’s really cool. Good job. I will be making a donation, too.’ ”
