The Austin (Tex.) Symphony Orchestra has announced the appointment of TODD WALDMAN as director of development. He goes to Austin from the Young People’s Chorus of New York City, where he was assistant director of development. Prior to that Waldman was a music editor for Oxford University Press and International Music Company, and he currently serves on the board of the Music Publishers Association. He holds a bachelor’s degree in music from Duke University; master’s degrees in music theory from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Yale University; and a certificate from the Goethe Institut in Berlin, Germany.
