Several staff appointments and promotions have been announced by the Philadelphia Orchestra.

ROGER WIGHT has been named artistic administrator. He goes to Philadelphia following seven years as director of artistic planning at the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra. Prior to that he was the supervising producer for NPR’s Performance Today. Wight’s experience also includes two seasons as artistic administrator at the Great Mountains Music Festival and School in South Korea. He attended Cleveland Institute of Music, where he studied trombone and trained in orchestral performance.

KATE KAMMEYER, who spent five years as Philadelphia’s orchestra personnel manager following two years as assistant personnel manager, has been appointed orchestra manager, a post she had filled on an interim basis since December 2012. Before going to Philadelphia in 2006 Kammeyer was orchestra personnel coordinator at the Manhattan School of Music. An oboist, she received a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Iowa, a Master of Music degree from the University of Hartford’s Hartt School of Music, and an Artist Diploma from the State University of New York-Purchase.

MARILYN RIFE has been appointed orchestra personnel manager. She was most recently at the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, where for seven years she served as director of personnel and human relations. Rife previously held the post of personnel manager at the Oregon Symphony. A professional orchestra musician for many years, she served as principal percussionist in the San Antonio Symphony and as a percussion substitute with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Rife holds a bachelor’s degree in percussion performance from Oberlin College.

The Philadelphia Orchestra has also announced the promotion of TRAVIS WELLS from interim touring and operations manager to director of touring and operations; TIMOTHY KASTNER from digital media manager to director of digital media and video production; and KAREN TOMLINSON from human resources manager to director of human resources.
