Musical America names 30 “movers and shakers” in classical music

Musical America has published “Movers & Shakers: 30 Key Influencers in the Performing Arts” for 2013, a report naming 30 people in the classical music field who are finding innovative, insightful ways to keep their organizations healthy. League of American Orchestras President and CEO Jesse Rosen is named, as are Brent Assink, executive director, San Francisco Symphony; Deborah Borda, president and CEO, Los Angeles Philharmonic; Deborah Rutter, president, Chicago Symphony Orchestra; Mark Volpe, managing director, Boston Symphony Orchestra; and Joseph Polisi, president, The Julliard School. Others include executives at opera companies, performing arts centers, and music festivals. Musical America is publisher of an annual performing arts directory, a daily online news web portal, and eight to ten annual reports on industry topics such as the recording industry, social-media marketing, and fundraising.
