Clive Paget, writing on Friday (11/29) at Limelight, a classical music publication based in Australia, writes that that magazine is “currently under threat of closure after its publisher Haymarket Media has chosen to wind up its operations in Australia. Limelight is now in search of a buyer to take over the award-winning classical music magazine and website. The decision came after Haymarket Media announced that they would cease to publish in Australia and were selling or licensing their brands to local publishers. Haymarket Media have been publishing Limelight magazine under licence from the ABC since 2006…. Haymarket Media is still soliciting expressions of interest in Limelight until it closes its Australia offices on December 13.” An unsigned follow-up item on Monday (12/2) at Limelight adds that Haymarket Media Group also recently divested itself of Classic FM magazine, “published under license with the U.K.’s Classic FM radio.… Haymarket … says that its Australia move makes sense with its decision to focus on its operations in Singapore.”
