Throughout the 2013-14 season the Memphis Symphony Orchestra has been performing short concerts at Memphis International Airport through “Arts in the Airport,” a program designed to increase the MSO’s presence in the Memphis community. Under the program, supported by the orchestra’s season sponsors, quartets of musicians from the orchestra perform from noon to 1 p.m. at two locations: near the airport’s B security checkpoint, and in the rotunda of concourse B. The first two of eight scheduled performances took place on October 4 and November 8; the remaining six are set for December 13, 2013, and January 31, February 28, March 21, April 11, and May 23, 2014.
