In the Spokesman-Review (Spokane, Wash.) on Wednesday (12/18), Carolyn Lamberson reports, “Spokane Civic Theatre and the Spokane Symphony will team up for the first time in March to stage Civic’s production of ‘Les Miserables’ on the stage at the Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox. Resident conductor Morihiko Nakahara will lead the full symphony during the two performances, March 1 and 2.… Civic opened ‘Les Miz’ in September and it quickly sold out, [Spokane Civic Theatre Managing Director Jim] Humes said. An added weekend still didn’t satiate demand. ‘The community was extraordinarily impressed by the caliber of Civic’s “Les Miz” performances this fall,’ said Brenda Nienhouse, the symphony’s executive director. ‘The symphony and The Fox are excited to join with Civic to bring Spokane audiences an enhanced experience with our full symphony and the fabulous ambiance of this historic theater.’ ”
