The Houston Symphony will announce its 2014-15 season via a half-hour live-streamed event on January 10 at 8 p.m. (CST), the first such multimedia announcement for the orchestra. The announcement will also be aired live on Houston PBS Channel 8. Andrés Orozco-Estrada, the orchestra’s new music director, will join Executive Director Mark Hanson and St. John Flynn, Classical 91.7’s director of classical programming to discuss highlights of the season. Also present for the announcement, made from the Melcher Center for Public Broadcasting at the University of Houston, will be Houston Symphony Society Board President Robert A. Peiser and Houston Public Media Executive Director/General Manager Lisa Trapani Shumate. The live webcast can be viewed here.
