The New York Philharmonic and The Juilliard School will present a farewell chamber music recital on January 19 in honor of Glenn Dicterow, longtime concertmaster at the Philharmonic’s and faculty member at Juilliard. The recital at New York’s Alice Tully Hall will feature performances by Dicterow and pianist Gerald Robbins; Lisa Kim, the Philharmonic’s associate principal second violin; violist Karen Dreyfus; and Eileen Moon, the Philharmonic’s associate principal cello. The program will feature music by Korngold, Corigliano, and Dvořák. Upon his retirement from the Philharmonic, Dicterow will relocate to his native California to teach at the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music, where he will hold the Robert Mann Chair in Strings and Chamber Music.
